Map Tales is a really cool site for creating digital stories. Think Storybird with a geography twist instead of art. Basically, someone can create a story using actual geographical points of location. Each of these points can be edited and modified by the author. Look at this example student presentation on The Odyssey by Homer.
I know many of you reading are elementary teachers, but you can definitely modify this to fit a more age-appropriate story!
How much cooler would a student book report or presentation be using this instead of boring old PowerPoint? I think the answer is obvious :)
